Sweden played agressive and won the gold against Finland
Sweden took home the gold medals for Boys U16 as they defeated Finland 81.63. Estonia finished off the tournament with 73:67 win over Latvia and got the bronze. Sweden was more agressive at the beginning of the game as they took 17:12 lead after the first quarter. Things didn`t change in the second and Swedes was leading by 14 at the half (39:25).
In the third quarter Finland also found their game but with a strong finish of the period blueshirts increased their lead to 18 (69:51) heading to last period. Finns pushed hard to close gap but finally lost the game by 8 points.
Tunde Nils Matin Vahlberg Fasasi scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and was named the MVP of the tournament. William Erik Rachid Kermoury added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Elliot Cadeau was naemd thed best player for Sweden. Viljami Vartiainen had 11 points and 5 rebounds and was named the best player for Finland.
Henri Veesaar scored five points in a row as Estonia took the early 5:0 lead. After Kaspar Kuusma scored two freethrows and the score was 11:2 to hosting team. Aleksander Tassa`s buzzerbeater ended the first quarter with Estonians leading 22.12. As the quarter before Latvians pushed the pace and it resulted in 8:0 spurt. Two teams headed to the last period with Estonia only leading by two – 49:47.
Hostin team managed to get seven point lead three and a half minutes left on the clock. Latvians then came back to tie the game 40 seconds left on the clock. Estonia made a bad pass and Latvia had a chance. 6,4 seconds was left on the clock when a foul was made to latvian point guard. Ball was passed to Kristofers Karslon who then made a travel. Estonia then had only 0,4 seconds to make a play but werent able to make a shot attempt.
Estonia got a 69:66 lead when their centre Henri Veesaar scored a long distance shot one minute before the end. He scored a basket in the next possession as well and that ended the chances for Latvia.
Henri Veesaar scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and was named the best player for team Estona. Markuss Lastins scored 15 for Latvia, their best player was Peteris Pinnis.
